THE DIVINE COMEDY OF DANTE ALIGHIERI

The study entails an in-depth analysis of the most famous work of the Italian poet Dante Alighieri, (ideally) over a period of three years. Each canto will be analysed, focusing on the symbolism and plurality of meanings. At the moment, the class is studying il Purgatorio. Students are required to study one canto per week paying specific attention to the literal, allegorical, moral and/or mystical interpretation and they will be able to share their opinions and ideas during the lesson.

Target audience: Advanced (B2 minimum)

CAFFÈ LETTERARIO

This course is designed for those who have a specific interest for Italian literature and would like to know more about it, through the reading of some of its masterpieces. The teacher, an expert, will present some texts of both classic and contemporary literature and will analyse them in class, along with the students. You will have the opportunity to improve your language and, at the same time, to get to know new aspects of Italian society.
Target audience: This course is suitable for those who have a C1 level or equivalent.

ITALIAN CULTURE AND ITALIAN CULTURE ADVANCED

This is a specific course for those who want to learn more about Italians and their culture. During this course, you will have the opportunity to know about Italian food, art, music, society and ask all the questions you always wanted to ask about Italians.
It is also a great way to revise and improve your vocabulary and grammar.
Target audience: The course is divided in two levels: the first one is suitable for those who have a B1 level or equivalent; while the secod one one is suitable for those who have a B2 level or equivalent.

This course is specific for those interested in improving their knowledge of Italian through the wonders of its food. This course is specific for those interested in improving their knowledge of Italian through the study of 10 Italian masterpieces. During the course, you will revise and improve your knowledge of the language plus you will learn more about the extraordinary richness of Italian art. Some of the workpieces analysed will be: The last supper, Apollo and Dafne, The duomo of Modena. We will study paintings, sculptures, architecture, of different styles and from diverse historical contexts, in a chronological order, starting from the end of the Roman Empire, to arrive to the late ‘40s.
