Italian Cine-scapes: Urban Space and Architecture Portrayed in 10 Movies

Palace Cinemas and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Melbourne are excited to present a selection of 10 classic and contemporary Italian movies that will take you on a cine-scape journey through a bygone and nowadays Italy.

An aperitivo and film introduction will precede the screening on a Sunday evening at Palace Cinema Como each month.

Upcoming Event Details:

SUNDAY 2nd December: “The Birds, the Bees and the Italians” by Pietro Germi [Signore e Signori, 1966, 120’]

Closing this year’s programme, this masterpiece has retained its place in the history of Italian cinema.
Across three episodes in the town of Treviso, the film mercilessly and hilariously skewers the hypocrisy and extramarital prowling of a group of Venetian sophisticates posing as community pillars.

6.30 PM Introduction to the film by Dr Andrea Rizzi (Australian Research Council Future Fellow (2014-2018) School of Languages and Linguistics, The University of Melbourne, followed by the screening.
