The IIC Melbourne is pleased to host Italian sommelier Francesca Romagno of Twelvebottles on the occasion of the Second Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World, an event promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation which will be held between the 20th and the 26th of November 2017 in 130 countries all over the world. The event will see the participation of thousands of government and community organisations with the purpose of promoting Italy’s most renowned export in the world: the extraordinary Italian taste.
The wine tasting event at the IIC will be dedicated to the wines of four Italian regions in order to cover the North, Centre and South of the country: Prosecco from Veneto, Pinot grigio from Friuli Venezia Giulia, Sangiovese from Toscana and Rose’ from Puglia. During the evening the participants will be guided by Francesca to taste these celebrated wines from Italy.
In her career Francesca Romagno has built up extensive experience across the hospitality and winemaking industry: from a pure oenological practice on the Giorgio Meletti Cavalari Winery in Tuscany, to commercial acumen as Assistant General Manager at Specialty Wineshop the Bottle House in Australia, to hospitality skills as Sommelier at the Dorchester Hotel in London.
