CALL FOR PREMIO ITALIA 2024 – Italian and books: the world between the lines
The competition is aimed at students at Australian universities who meet the requirements specified in the attached notice, and who will be engaged in the production of papers of various kinds in Italian.
The theme launched this year by MAECI for the XXIV Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo is “Italian and books: the world between the lines“.
The results of the competition will be announced at the National Conference of Italian Teachers, to be held in Melbourne on 19 October 2024.
Deadline for submitting entries is 30/09/2024.

Call for Premio Italia 2022
National Prize for University Students of Italian
The Embassy of Italy in Canberra sends a call to all university students studying Italian for the best essay, short story or comic strips, of no more than 1,500 words, written in Italian.
The competition is open to students enrolled in a program leading to an undergraduate or a graduate degree, and undertaking a course in the Italian Program of an Australian University.
The theme of this year is:
“L’ITALIANO E I GIOVANI – Come scusa? Non ti followo”
The Prize is a voucher (AUD 2,000.00) to purchase a RETURN FLIGHT TICKET TO ITALY offered by the Italian Cultural Institute of Sydney/ Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Sydney (* conditions apply). The Prize will be announced on 22nd of October 2022, during the Conference for Teachers of Italian, organized in Perth.
Universities are invited to express their wish to participate by 31 – 08 – 2022, by e-mailing Bruna.Carboni@anu.edu.au with PREMIO ITALIA as the Subject.
The works must be submitted to the relevant department of participating universities. The university will send a copy of the written essays, short story or comic strips with a brief presentation of the authors – no more than 200 words – via e-mail, to the same address Bruna.Carboni@anu.edu.au with PREMIO ITALIA as the Subject, by 05/10/2022.

The 1st edition of the “Science, She Says!” Award – Applications are now open
The first edition of the Award bestowed will take place during the Italian Scientific Attachés Conference, to be held in Padua on October 2022.
The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) is willing to establish the “Science, She Says! Award” to recognize an outstanding junior foreign female scientist who has remarkably contributed to the advancement of science and technology, while performing her research.

MAECI Annual Award for Italian Researchers and Startuppers Operating Abroad.
The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has instituted the annual Award for Italian researchers and startuppers operating abroad.
The award includes two categories:
– The “Italian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award” to recognize an eminent Italian scientist who, in performing his/her research abroad, has made a remarkable contribution to the advancement of science and technology, thus improving Italy’s S&T relations with foreign countries and International Organizations;
– The “Innovation that speaks Italian” award to recognize the highly innovative value of technology Startups, operating abroad and founded by Italian citizens.
The deadline for applications is January 3, 2022.
The award, which consists of a medal and a diploma from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will be given in Rome next March 2022, during the Conference of Italian Scientific Attachés.

Concorso internazionale “Uno, nessuno e centomila”, rivolto alle scuole italiane all’estero secondarie di I e di II grado, statali e paritarie e alle scuole europee, internazionali e straniere con insegnamento dell’italiano.
L’iniziativa, giunta alla sua quarta edizione, e’ promossa quest’anno dalla Fondazione Teatro “Luigi Pirandello”, in collaborazione con l’Ufficio Scolastico Regionale della Sicilia, la Regione Siciliana, il Comune di Agrigento, il Distretto Turistico “Valle dei Templi”, l’Accademia di Belle Arti “Michelangelo” di Agrigento, l’associazione “La Strada degli Scrittori” e si rivolge agli stessi destinatari.
Il bando di quest’anno (cliccare qui) prevede la possibilita’ di concorrere, da parte degli studenti delle scuole secondarie di I grado e di II grado, con lavori individuali o di gruppo, presentando un testo drammaturgico ispirato ad una novella dello scrittore agrigentino oppure una messa in scena di un adattamento teatrale di una novella pirandelliana.

Art Laguna Prize (Premio Arte Laguna)
The Cultural Association MoCA(Modern Contemporary Art) organizes the 15th Edition of Arte Laguna Prize, international Prize aimed at promoting and enhancing contemporary art. Arte Laguna Prize, the world’s most influential competition for emerging artists and designers, showcases and promotes creative talents. The Arte Laguna Prize gives the opportunity to join the huge network of collaborations worldwide, exhibit in the breathtaking location of the Arsenale of Venice, win cash prizes and much more.
The Prize is organized with the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, the Ministry of the Environment and Protection of the Territory and the Sea, the Veneto Region, the Municipality of Venice, the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, the European Institute of Design; it obtained a medal from the President of the Italian Republic and recognition by important members of the Advisory Council.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) instituted the “Italian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award” in the year 2018 to recognize an Italian eminent scientist who, in performing his/her research abroad, has made a remarkable contribution to the advancement of science and technology, thus improving Italy’s S&T relations with foreign countries and with International Organizations.
The “Italian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award” is granted to Italian scientists who have given an outstanding contribution in the field of science and technology and in the field of the advancement of scientific cooperation, through their activity in a number of countries including Australia.

The winner of the Italian Bilateral Cooperation Award will be awarded during a Ceremony at the MAECI in 2019 at the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Minister of Education, University and Research.

> Fourth Edition VIVO D’ARTE Contest – Perfomative Arts
An annual award to enhance and support the creativity and talent of young Italian artists permanently living abroad.
In 2019 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation established the contest ‘VIVO D’ARTE’’ for young Italian artists under 36 living abroad.
The aim of the award is to provide an instrument of visibility and promote collaboration between Italian artists and the cultural scene of the country where they live, encouraging them to produce new works that develop the theme of fusion and dialogue between cultures and that involve local artists. The focus of the award is on the performing arts (music, theatre, contemporary dance) and is supported by the prestigious collaboration of the Romaeuropa Foundation.
The initiative also aims to create a network of Italian artists abroad and raise awareness of new Italian immigration, promoting two key contemporary hallmarks of Italy in the world: its creativity and the ability of its artistic talent to express itself even beyond national borders.

The winning project will be presented at the Romaeuropa Festival,that will be held in Rome from 8 September until 20 November 2022.
