The Italian Institute of Culture proudly promoted Cinema Reborn for the screening of Il Grido on May 11th at Lido Cinemas in Hawthorn.
IL GRIDO (1957), Antonioni’s fifth feature, is a significant work in his exploration of alienation and emotional loss. The protagonist Aldo’s journey reflects a poignant narrative of shared pity amid societal changes and advancing technology. The 4K restoration, a collaboration between The Film Foundation and Cineteca di Bologna, preserves Antonioni’s visionary style and thematic depth for new audiences.
Consul General Hanna Pappalardo, Acting Director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Melbourne, presents the screening of Il Grido on May 11th, following an introduction by Professor Vincent Giarusso of Swinburne University.
