25th Italian Language Week Worldwide (13–19 October 2025) – Italofonia: lingua oltre i confini

The 25th edition of the Italian Language Week Worldwide, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with its traditional partners in language promotion (MIM, MUR, MiC, Embassy of Switzerland, Accademia della Crusca, CePeLL, CGIE, RAI, Società Dante Alighieri, and Treccani), is dedicated to the theme “Italofonia: lingua oltre i confini”

The initiative aims to celebrate the linguistic, cultural, and social space of the Italian language, envisioning a global community united by a passion for our language and a connection with Italy.

The week’s program of events and activities is designed to highlight, through an inclusive approach, the many forms of Italian and its use in diverse contexts. Events planned for the city of Melbourne are listed in the attached poster.

The opening event of the week, inaugurated on 15 October by the Consul General of Italy in Melbourne, Chiara Mauri, will be a special showcase dedicated to the centenary of Andrea Camilleri’s birth.
