With scene and set photographs by Deborah Beer, some previously unpublished, and filming documentation, the film reveals the broader narrative scope of the original prologue – the Antinferno –, insights into the horrific daily life at the villa of horrors, photographs of the original intended ending – the dance of the entire troupe and the on-set revelation and images, later deleted, of the extermination of the victims, a portrayal of the infernal torture evoked in medieval tradition but alluding to identical contemporary horrors.
