REBOOT. ITALIAN CINEMA STARTS AGAIN” and “THE NEW EMBRACE OF CINEMA: FROM THE PANDEMIC TO THE SET.
A series of videos dedicated to the resilience of the Italian film industry and to the cinema’s profession. An initiative in collaboration with the Cinema Foundation for Rome (Fondazione Cinema per Roma), chaired by Laura Delli Colli, General Manager Francesca Via, curated by Mario Sesti.
The first, entitled “Reboot. Italian cinema starts again ”, based on the series Backstage, collects 10 clips of 5 minutes on the cinema’s professions. With the participation of directors, actors, and many other famous professionals of the big screen: Pierfrancesco Favino, Mirko Perri, Daniele Ciprì, Fabio Lovino, Pietro Valsecchi, Massimo Cantini Parrini, Anna Foglietta, Maricetta Lombardo, Daniele Luchetti, Nicola Guaglianone.
The second project, “The new embrace of cinema: from the pandemic to the set”, hosts in 2 videos of 4 minutes the testimonies of authors, performers and producers on the theme of the pandemic and the impact it has had on their work: Francesca Cima, Sergio Castellitto, Paola Cortellesi, Liliana Cavani, Cristina Donadio, Claudio Giovannesi, Edoardo Leo, Riccardo Milani, Sara Serraiocco, Pietro Valsecchi and Carlo Verdone talk on this subject.
How to use the time available at home? How will the pandemic change cinema? What is the first thing you will do when this is all over? These are the questions addressed to some exponents of Italian cinema during the spring 2020 quarantine.

From advertising photographs to portraits of great artists, up to stage photography: Fabio Lovino tells us what he loves most, but also what makes him suffer the most, of his profession and reveals the best way to learn the work of the photographer on stage.
Pietro Valsecchi is one of the major producers of cinema and TV series in Italy: together with Camilla Nesbitt, he invented the “Zalone phenomenon”. In this video he presents his profession and talks about the lesser-known sides.
Massimo Cantini Parrini is the inventor of some of the most beautiful clothes seen on the big screen. He was nominated for an Oscar in 2021 and has received numerous awards for his costumes: one European Film Award, five David di Donatello, three Silver Ribbons, three Golden Ciaks.
Anna Foglietta, winner of two Silver Ribbons and godmother of the 77th International Art Exhibition cinema of Venice, talks about his work: the journey of an actress from her formative years to the films that had the greatest impact, the most interesting and the most anxious aspects of her profession.
