Born in 1979, Alessandro Marangoni studied piano with Marco Vincenzi at the Conservatorio di Alessandria, and, after a diploma summa cum laude, continued his studies at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole with Maria Tipo and Pietro De Maria. He also studied philosophy, graduating from the University of Pavia with honours at the Almo Collegio Borromeo.
He debuted in December 2007 with a recital at the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, in a tribute to Victor de Sabata on the 40th anniversary of Sabata’s death, together with Daniel Barenboim. Recently he has performed at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome (Parco della Musica), at the Accademia della Crusca in Florence, the Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, at the Cappella Paolina del Quirinale in Rome, during the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, the Festival MITO, the Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino, the Teatro Dal Verme di Milano, the Aula Magna dell’Università “La Sapienza” di Roma, the St. John’s College in Cambridge and in Great Britain, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Sweden, Finland, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, China and United States with great critical and public success. He also debuted as director and soloist with the Orchestra “I Pomeriggi Musicali” at the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan, recording for major broadcasters such as RAI, BBC and Radio Nacional de Espana.
He is the first musician to perform even in the virtual world of Second Life, performing more than one a hundred concerts with great public success. He is the pianist of the Trio Albatros Ensemble, with whom he records under the Stradivarius label and he has played live at the Tg2 and RAI Mizar. He is the pianist of the Nuove Musiche Ensemble, with whom he opened the celebrations of the bicentenary of Verdi’s birth in Busseto in 2013.
He has also recorded the complete piano works of Rossini (Peccati di vecchiaia). He rediscovered the piano production of Victor de Sabata, which he recorded for La Bottega Discantica. Esteemed professor, he regularly holds masterclasses in Europe, South America and China. Together with the director Pierpaolo Venier he is the creator of the Chromoconcerto® and he is the artistic director of Forte Fortissimo! TV, a new Music Web Channel created with Stefano Sgarella.
