Teatro La Scala of Milan comes to Palace Cinemas

One of Europe’s most highly anticipated cultural events, the official gala opening of the La Scala season, recorded on 7 December last year in front of an audience including Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. Moshe Leiser & Patrice Caurier’s staging of Verdi’s opera, based on one of France’s most romantic stories – that of Joan of Arc – is a star-studded production featuring acclaimed soprano Anna Netrebko as the heroic Giovanna, Devid Cecconi as her father Giocomo and Francesco Meli as Carlo VII, King of France. La Scala’s Principal Conductor Riccardo Chailly conducts.
