Short Film Day

During the week of the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, The Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with Italian Short Film Center, presents for the first time an evening entirely dedicated to the short film: the Italian short films scheduled have been selected by the Italian Short Film Center and they will offer a look at the contemporary Italian production.

 

The short films scheduled are:

 

Magic Alps, Andrea Brusa & Marco Scotuzzi

fiction – 2018 – 15’

The official of a Refugee Center must handle the asylum application of an Afghan refugee who has arrived in Italy with a goat. The film is based on a true story.

 

Il tratto, Alessandro Stevanon

fiction – 2017 – 15’

Federico is a sensitive and quiet 11-year-old kid. The meeting with an old Senegalese artist will help Federico with finding his talent and learning to see the others as they truly are: people with their own history made of silent details.

 

MalaMenti, Francesco Di Leva

animation – 2017 – 13’

Ciccio O’ Pazz and Ciruzzo Pesce bello are two bloodthirsty characters of criminal power. The legacy they have received was of the same violent nature, born and raised in a path of abusing the power with regard to the weaks.

 

Lobster Dinner, Gregorio Franchetti

fiction – 2017 – 14’

A 12-year-old kid steals some lobsters from his parents’ fridge and takes them as a gift to his classmate’s single working-class mother: Lobster Dinner tells the story of the journey of misunderstandings and growth of two kids from different social classes.

 

Framed, Marco Jemolo

animazione – 2017 – 7’

Fk is a little man of plasticine, like those used for animation cinema, but he has a profound soul and a strong critical spirit: he rebels to his condition.

 

A friend in me, Gianluca Manzetti

fiction – 2017 – 10’

In a “social” world where everyone wants to be the protagonist, there is who shares posts and who, as the protagonist of this story, risks his real life distracted by what seems to be his dearest friend… the smartphone.

 

Mon amour mon ami, Adriano Valerio

documentary – 2017 – 16’

Daniela and Fouad live in Gubbio, but they both come from the sea, she is from Bari, while he is from Casablanca. Taking care of each other, a profound friendship has developed and now with Fouad needing the residence permit, a marriage appears like the easiest solution.
