Meet the MPavilion 2021 architects Traudy Pelzel and Francesco Magnani at the Queen Victoria Gardens

Designed by globally acclaimed architects Francesco Magnani and Traudy Pelzel of MAP studio (Venice), the studio say that MPavilion heralds a milestone for Melbourne, representing a significant path back to re-energising the creative and cultural life of our city.

The Director of the Italian Institute of Culture would like to invite you to join us for a special morning tea to meet the MPavilion 2021 architects Traudy Pelzel and Francesco Magnani. On this inaugural visit to Melbourne, the MAP studio architects will be commemorating the outstanding collaborations over the past two years, in realising the extraordinary design – MPavilion 2021: The Lightcatcher.

The MPavilion 2021: The Lightcatcher was created in ever changing and challenging circumstances of the global pandemic and the final result is a testament to the power of collaboration, collective strength and determination in achieving an extraordinary outcome. As restrictions across Victoria finally lifted in late 2021, The Lightcatcher was revealed as a truly inspirational public space and beacon of joy and renewed hope for Victorians, with its dynamic 5-month season of free events.
Please join us at the Queen Victoria Gardens on Thursday 6 April and enjoy a morning of celebration with friends and colleagues.
