OUTBACK

OUTBACK – Double bass player and composer Dario Germani in concert with his Australian Trio.

Dario Germani, born in Italy in 1984, began to study electric bass at a very young age, trained under the tutelage of Maestro Gianluca Renzi, then he switched to double bass. He has always combined classic studies (Frosinone Conservatory) with Jazz improvisation and arrangement.

OUTBACK features new music of wide emotional compass by Dario Germani, and underlines his originality and resourcefulness as a jazz composer.

Germani leads the group not with virtuosic solo display but by patient outlining of melody and establishing of frameworks in which layered group improvising can take place. With this group, gentle but insistent rhythms can trigger seismic musical events.

Although Germani is the author of nine of the pieces here, the band members share equal responsibilities for the music’s unfolding.
