Original version.
In the documentary, Pasolini explains to Ninetto Davoli the reasons for choosing to shoot the city of Orte with the camera to comment on the theme “the shape of the city”, observing how, starting from particular angles and shots, modern elements are visible that deform the landscape. (Rai Teche)
“It is a real short film by Pasolini, marked by the harmony between the images of the poet-director who speaks, moves the camera, chooses the shots, moves from the surroundings of Orte, approaches the inside of the city, retraces the landscape upheavals in the Third World and, finally, arrives in Sabaudia, where he pronounces an indictment against the environmental, urban and cultural degeneration of Italy. “(Roberto Chiesi)
