VII WEEK OF ITALIAN CUISINE IN THE WORLD

“Conviviality, sustainability and innovation: the ingredients

of Italian cuisine for people’s health and the protection of the planet “

14 |20 NOVEMBER 20, 2022

Now in its seventh edition, the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World is a qualified moment of the broad integrated promotion strategy initiated and coordinated by MAECI and strengthens the connotation of the “kitchen” and of the Italian agri-food sector as distinctive components of the Italian Brand, contributing at the same time to favoring entry and / or strengthening opportunities on the international markets of operators in the agro-industrial and catering sector in terms of tourist attraction.

The theme of the 2022 edition, after 8000 events around the world in the past 6 years, focuses on the themes of conviviality and the right to pleasure, of the healthy and sustainable Italian diet for people and for the planet, of innovation based on the centrality of the territory, products and people, and on traditional relationships and skills that make Italian craftsmanship an example for the world.

The promotion of protected brand products (IGP, DOC, TSG and IG) and the fight against the so-called “Italian sounding” as well as the promotion of territorial peculiarities and related products and interconnections with tourist attractions will be central. To highlight these latter concepts, the Italian Cultural Institute of Melbourne will present Sicily, Garden of the Mediterranean, a week dedicated to the culture of Sicilian conviviality through a program of events on the island’s culinary, botanical and artistic history: gastronomic moments, screenings, food performance, show cooking and artistic interventions.
