The IIC “Eugenio Montale”\u00a0traditional library<\/strong>\u00a0is comprised of more than\u00a011,000 titles<\/strong>, mostly made up of Italian books of varying genre and\u00a0of an\u00a0extensive video collection, CDs and DVDs<\/strong>. Topics range from art, literature, music, philosophy and theatre; through to science, politics, history, geography, religion and archaeology.<\/p>\n

Through the\u00a0online catalogue<\/strong>\u00a0users can perform the following operations:<\/p>\n

simple or advanced searches (for example by title or author) of the whole catalogue or of a single section relating to materials other than books (videos, Cds, Dvds etc.) entitled mediateca;<\/li>\n
view new acquisitions;<\/li>\n
compile bibliographical lists and send them via email to different addresses;<\/li>\n
propose new acquisitions;<\/li>\n
obtain information and statistical data about the library;<\/li>\n
access virtual resources on Italian language, literature and culture available on the internet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

The Institute library is an invaluable treasure trove of information be it for work, study or personal fulfillment.
\nWhilst quite comprehensive, the library database is continually being upgraded with our regular and ongoing stream of acquisitions including books, local and international periodicals and modern encyclopaedias.<\/p>\n

Loans and Services<\/strong><\/p>\n
Users can use the borrowing service by paying a $50 deposit, which is refunded at the end of the loan. Books can be borrowed for fifteen days, and videocassettes, CDs, and DVDs for five days. Loans can be renewed twice via phone or email. Inter-library loans are also available on request through other IIC libraries worldwide or with other Italian libraries.<\/p>\n
