Italian families through the eyes of novelists - IIC BookClub

Italian families through the eyes of novelists - IIC BookClub

The Italian Bookclub is back! Italian families through the eyes of novelists.

The Italian bookclub of the IIC has been running for three years and in that time together, we have read over 25 novels. It has been an amazing experience of learning all about Italian stories through the words of Italian authors - whether they be mystery novels, works by female authors or stories about Mare and Montagna.

This year the topic will be Italian Families and the books that we will be reading vary from classic to modern.

The series will begin with Natalia Ginzburg and her wonderful novel "FAMILY LEXICON" and we will end with "A DECENT FAMILY" by Rosa Ventrella.

Our book club prides itself on allowing space for everyone's point of view and offering a positive and inspiring moment to explore Italian culture and literature.

But wait?! Do I need to read the books in Italian? The answer is - NO. You can choose to read the books in either English or Italian (all books on the list are available in English translations) and the discussion happens in English too.

What about the books? Where can I find them? You can contact International Bookshop in Kew who can assist you to buy the series, or order them online through any number of bookshops.
