International Womens’ Day 2026 Fili Invisibili

International Women’s Day PosterFlyer – IWD 2026

The Italian Cultural Institute of Melbourne, in collaboration with Com.It.Es South Australia and the Consulate of Italy in Adelaide, together with Radio Italiana 531, Australia Donna, the Dante Alighieri Society of SA Inc., and the Fay Gale Centre for Research on Gender, presents a special screening of the short documentary Fili Invisibili, in the presence of its award-winning director Fabio Schifilliti, who will take part in a Q&A session following the screening.

The film traces the many “invisible threads” connecting the story of young Graziella Recupero, killed in 1956, and that of Sara Campanella, killed in 2025: stories that the Copernico students chose to bring to light through this short film, which recounts two victims of femicide 69 years apart, inviting reflection on what, if anything, has changed over seven decades.

During this meaningful afternoon, nine extraordinary women will also be celebrated, whose achievements and stories of success and resilience were shared on air on Radio Italiana 531 in the week leading up to 8 March. Their voices and experiences reflect strength, leadership, and contribution to the community.
