LIBRIAMOCI, now at its eleventh edition, is an initiative supported by Ministero della Cultura and by Ministero dell’Istruzione e del Merito addressed to italian schools, including Italian schools abroad and to Italian sections in foreign, international and European schools. The mission is to invite schools to devise and organize, within the regular school schedule between 17 and 22 February 2025, read aloud moments aimed at stimulating in students the pleasure of reading.
Intelleg(g)o, this year’s theme has been chosen to make people think about the ability of reading to make people go beyond the surface of things, to recognize their real meaning. It is divided into:
- Intelleg(g)o….dunque sono: for coming of age novels or poetry
- Intelleg(g)o….dunque sento: for audiobooks, silent books, graphic novels and many others
- Intelleg(g)o….dunque faccio: for essays, non-fiction works and newspapers
The Italian Cultural Institute of Melbourne is proud to announce its participation in this initiative, providing Italian schools in the area of Melbourne with an expert Italian reader and with the choice of the much-loved novel of The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi.
