The Ministry of Culture has launched the application Musei Italiani, which brings together and networks Italy’s national museums.
Musei Italiani provides several services, including geo-localisation of the museum, its location in relation to the visitor and access to a digital ticketing platform. New features are also being developed, such as recommended itineraries, audio- and video-guide services and versions in other languages.
To date, there are more than 400 state museums on Italian Museums. The app will soon be available for the entire Italian museum network, which includes almost 4900 institutions.
