Human activities have profoundly changed the Earth we live on and upset its balance. Everything around us is different: the past we remember is gone, the present has changed and the future is uncertain. The new order of things is called the Anthropocene, a word that gives voice to truths, fears, doubts, hopes and inescapable realities.
The present is made up of new and urgent questions: what are our tools to face the future? What scenarios are waiting for us? What issues need to be dealt with?
The Tools for After project, conceived by the Italian Cultural Institute of Melbourne and curated by arch. Maurizio Corrado, seeks concrete solutions and proposes tools to prevent, contain and manage the scenarios for which the Anthropocene is preparing us. The project appeals to the Italian creativity of the younger generations, involving sectors in which our country is internationally recognised for the style and originality of its proposals: Design, Architecture, Landscape, Food, Science, Cinema and Literature.
It will be possible to see the fruits of this project during the Tools for After Festival, which will take place in Melbourne from the 14th of September to the 22nd of October.
For its innovative and multidisciplinary nature, the Tools for After cultural project was unanimously awarded in the Capitals of Creativity call, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and included in the Festival of Italian Creativity.
