Presentation of the books ‘Pimpa viaggia in Italia’ and ‘Mille meraviglie in blu’ at Footscray and Brunswick South Primary Schools

In June, coinciding with the start of the third school term, the Italian Cultural Institute of Melbourne will reach the bilingual Italian-English primary schools of Footscray and Brunswick South to deliver copies of ‘Pimpa viaggia in Italia’ and ‘Mille meraviglie in blu’.

These two special editions were specifically produced for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation by Franco Cosimo Panini and Edizioni Piemme-Mondadori Libri, with the aim of promoting knowledge of Italy and its territories.

Pimpa viaggia in Italia’, designed for a pre-school audience, recounts Pimpa’s journey along the Italian peninsula, discovering the historical, gastronomic and scenic beauties of Italy.

Mille meraviglie in blu‘ has Geronimo Stilton as its protagonist. After the success of the first volume ‘Mille Meraviglie’, this new series tells the story of the Stilton family’s journey along the Italian coast to discover places, traditions and knowledge linked to the culture of the sea.

The pupils will be entertained by an illustrator and an exhibition on Pimpa set up for the occasion.

We thank Brunswick South Primary School and Footscray Primary School for hosting this event. The choice of the schools was based on the educational and academic values that lead them and for their commitment in promoting Italian language and culture. We also thank our institutional partners COASIT and COMITES for taking part in the organisation.
