MAECI – GRANTS AND AWARDS FOR TRANSLATIONS IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation promotes the dissemination of Italian editorial and cinematographic works abroad through the provision of incentives for translation and dubbing/subtitling, which represent a strategic tool for the promotion of the Italian language and culture abroad.
The Ministry provides two types of financial incentives:
- Contribution to the translation of an unpublished Italian work abroad and for the production, dubbing, and subtitling of short films, feature films, and television series;
- Award for an Italian work already translated abroad.
Applications must be submitted annually to the Italian Cultural Institutes and Italian diplomatic and consular representations abroad, following the procedures established by the Call. The deadline for submitting applications for the 2024 edition is set for April 24, 2024.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation promotes the distribution of publications and cinematographic works abroad by offering incentives for translation and dubbing or subtitling.
The Farnesina provides two types of financial incentives:
Grants for the translation of unpublished Italian work abroad and to the production, dubbing and subtitling of short and feature films and TV series;
Awards to Italian works translated abroad.
Applications for the assignment of awards and contribution must be submitted by 6 May 2022 to the Italian Cultural Institutes and to the Italian diplomatic and consular missions abroad according to the procedures established in the Call for candidates.
