BOOK CLUB

INVISIBLE CITIES BY ITALO CALVINO

The Italian Cultural Institute is pleased to continue with the series of meetings dedicated to contemporary Italian literature, through a Book Club in which opinions and comments on the proposed readings can be shared. The book chosen for December is Invisible Cities (“Le città invisibili”) by Italo Calvino, on the occasion of Marco Polo’s 700th anniversary.

To facilitate reading and to open up this event to more participants, novels have been selected that also feature full English translations. The books can in fact be read both in the original language and in translation, since the meetings could be held also in English.

Join the Book Club to discover this interesting and unique book of Italian literature!

ITALO CALVINO, LE CITTÀ INVISIBILI (“Invisible Cities”) – 1972

Calvino uses these descriptions to explore complex concepts such as chaos and order, reality and illusion.

A Literature graduate from the University of Bologna, she is now a Double degree postgraduate student in Italian Literature and History of Art at the University of Venice (Italy) and the University of Tours (France).
