Enrollment, Schedule, and Fees

The Italian Institute of Culture in Melbourne follows the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Courses are therefore structured into four Terms of 8-10 weeks each. Teachers vary with each new course to ensure a better teaching experience.


The lessons follow the Victorian School Term:

Term 29 January – 13 April
Term 2  29 April – 8 July
Term 3  22 July – 23 September
Term 4  14 October – 21 December
Levels  All levels available, pending number of enrolments

  • Full Fee: $525;
  • Member Fee: $475

For 8 Students or More:

  • Total Hours: 25
  • Duration: 2.5 hours per lesson
  • Course Duration: 10 weeks

For 6 Students:

  • Total Hours: 20
  • Duration: 2 hours per lesson
  • Course Duration: 10 weeks

For 4 Students:

  • Total Hours: 16
  • Duration: 2 hours per lesson
  • Course Duration: 8 weeks

N.B.: No discounts will be granted on registration fees to students who cannot attend all the lessons of each course.

Courses will only commence if a minimum number of registrations is reached . However, shorter special courses can be organized if necessary. Courses can also start with a lower number of students. In this case, the number of course hours will be reduced .

Entrance Tests
With the exception of complete beginners, students who have already studied Italian and wish to enroll in a higher level must undergo a short entrance test to determine which course is most suitable for their level. Complete the self-assessment test here.

Registration fees will be refunded in full if the course is canceled due to an insufficient number of registrations. Once the course has started, fees cannot be refunded or transferred to another course. The Institute cannot be held responsible for any changes in the student’s personal circumstances.

Rescheduling of Lessons
Under exceptional circumstances – usually related to cultural events at the Institute – the Institute reserves the right to change the day and time of some lessons based on the needs of students and teachers.
